Permanently Replace One or More Missing Teeth
If you have missing teeth, or need one extracted, you have the option to replace any number with dental implants. Considered the “gold standard” in tooth replacement, dental implants are the closest thing to natural and healthy teeth, from the tooth root to the crown. When compared with other tooth replacement options, dental implants are the only permanent solution that also significantly improves the function of your mouth and beauty of your smile. We place and restore dental implants at our office, meaning you can undergo placement surgery and have the custom dental crown bonded to the implant in a single location and under the experienced care of our dentist, B. Phan, D.D.S.
Why Dental Implants?
Dental implants provide nearly all the same function as provided by natural and healthy teeth. Made up of three parts, dental implants begin with a post that is surgically placed into your jaw bone. Like natural tooth roots, it will disperse pressure caused by chewing to the jaw bone, which will remain stimulated and strong. Dental implants are restored with a custom dental crown, matched to the color of existing teeth and blending in with the correct size and shape. From root to crown, dental implants are nearly indistinguishable from natural teeth in both function and aesthetics!
The Dental Implants Process
From treatment planning to final restoration, the dental implants process requires the surgical expertise and artistic detail of a skilled dentist like Dr. Phan. On the day of surgery, dental implant posts—which look much like a screw—are placed into the jaw bone. This provides a secure foundation for the dental crown, and the imitation of natural tooth root function halts further jaw bone resorption. Dental implants must heal for a short time, during which they begin to fuse and integrate with the existing jaw bone. When healed, we customize a dental crown and bond it securely to the dental implant. These crowns are meticulously crafted to fit snugly along the gum line and between existing teeth, for a seamless fit. After treatment is complete, dental implants provide many enhancements to your smile and restore both function and oral health.
